Andrew wouldn’t have done to well on the Turing test

before the fall. Before the fall Andrew had trouble with common phrases such as goodnight, this is apparent when his owner says it to human and they begin an infinite loop of goodbyes. Another example is after Andrew had cooked a meal and the mother is freaked out by Andrew watching them eat. He is told to go to the kitchen, he goes and then turns around and looks at them. After the fall when his intelligence was more developed he understood common phrases and was even able to create jokes. I believe at this point he would pass the Turing test.

In the movie Andrew is treated like an appliance for a little while but after he sent out the window and is needed to be repaired the father starts to treat him as if he is alive and assigns him a name. I believe that Andrew should be treated as if he were alive and not some appliance because he had developed emotions and feelings and these are traits humans have not appliances. Appliance don’t have human qualities and do what they are told and don’t have think. This is different from Andrew, because he is able to think and contemplate.

Andrew asks his owner for freedom after reading about it in history books. The film suggests that robots should have their right to freedom because they are basically slaves to humans despite the fact the slavery is supposed to be abolished in the U.S... I believe that robots should have their freedom and make their own choices because they have the same intelligence as humans and are practically human.

Andrew wishes to have the same rights as humans this includes the right marry. In the movie Andrew wishes to marry little Miss’s daughter, however he is unable because he is not yet considered a human. This  is also a issue today except it is same sex marriage. The film suggest that intelligent robots should be able to marry humans if both parties wish to be wed. I believe this aswell, if the human and the robot want to be married I dont see the problem in it.

In the movie Andrew develops from a robot to a human being. He develops feelings and learns about human culture.

In the movie he goes through many operation to make himself appear human, he even put blood into his system so that he can appear to age and even die just to be more human. If a robot is willing to do all that just to be declared a human i believe he should be considered a human.

I believe Ai will be a great thing for humanity because it will increase the average life span of humans aswell as help as with things that we isnt possible now like space exploration or worldly problems like getting rid hunger and or even get rid of work in general.
